The 50th edition of the international Film Festival of India (Goa), India's biggest international film festival, has selected "Marghe and her mother" by Mohsen Makhmalbaf as its closing film.
Maysam Makhmalbaf, DOP and the producer of the film, accompanied by Paolo C.Santeramo & Danilo Acinapura actors of the film will attend the closing gala of the festival for presenting their films.
Mohsen Makhmalbaf latest film, "Marghe and her Mother" is made in southern Italy with an all Italian cast.
To celebrate its golden jubilee, IFFI Goa is also showcasing the winning films from its previous editions this year. Samira Makhmalbaf, whose film "At Five in the Afternoon" won the festival's top prize in the year 2003, has been invited to the festival to once again present her film for this year celebration.
Mohsen Makhmalbaf's latest film "Marghe and her Mother" began its worldwide tour at Busan International film festival in South Korea, Vancouver in Canada, the Bosphorus in Turkey and Sao Paulo in Brazil at the beginning of last month. After IFFI Goa the film will continue its journey in the festival circuit before its first public screening in cinemas next year.
