Synopsis:
This is an educational documentary by Hana Makhmalbaf on Samira Makhmalbaf’s style of filmmaking and the techniques she uses to lead non professional actors.
To me Samira as my sister is completely different from Samira as a filmmaker. Her genius in guiding non professional actors always mind boggling to me. In her last film, Two Legged Horse I was present as stills photographer. I took advantage of the opportunity to make a documentary on the techniques Samira employs to guide non professional actors; techniques that Samira calls as explanatory, imitative, technical and provocative.
