The film "Buddha collapsed out of shame" directed by Hana Makhmalbaf will be shown in 40 movie theaters across Japan starting April 18 under the title "The World of Children". Hana Makhmalbaf who traveled to Tokyo to hold the press conferences and a filmmaking workshop said: “This film is made in Afghanistan but it is not only related to Afghanistan. Afghanistan in this film is an example of a world full of violence and poverty for children of the world who are supposed to make the future of the world.” The "Buddha" was previously shown in 45 theaters in France and 20 theaters in Spain and to date it has won 18 international prizes including Berlin’s Crystal Bear and Jury prize of Spain’s San Sebastian film festival.
